2016 Acura ILX Discontinued ? Impossible

2016 Acura ILX discontinued ? it didn't happen, Acura is well known for making luxury cars and most of their models do manage to impress their buyers. However, the ILX isn’t one of them with the older model being considered quite slow and not that impressive when compared to its rivals. However, starting with the 2016 Acura ILX, the brand finally managed to get on the market a very well balanced car which not only looks good but it also drives great when compared to the model it is based on, the Civic.

PRICE

Just as you would expect, Acura made quite a bit of changes to the car and the most important of them all is the all new engine. On top of that, the price has been adjusted so it now starts at $29,000 which is almost $1000 lower than the previous model which was slower and less comfortable than this car.

The great level of comfort has been achieved thanks to a newly tuned suspension as well as a new set of 18 inch wheels which now use low rolling resistance tires that make the car less noisy on the road.

The old 2 liter 150 horsepower engine has also been discontinued not because it was bad but because it wasn’t that well suited for this car. Instead, the new ILX now has a 2.4 liter naturally aspirated inline 4 which is good for 201 horsepower and around 180 lb-ft of torque which now sends all of its power to the front wheels via an eight speed dual clutch automatic. This new gearbox is smoother, faster and less noisy than before and gives the car a much nicer character.

The fuel consumption remained the same with roughly 30 MPG on average but the performance improved by quite a bit margin. The 2016 Acura ILX is now able to hit 60 MPH in less than 6.5 seconds and it can go up to 140 MPH with ease.

However, the changes don’t stop here. In fact, the new 2016 Acura ILX received a massive facelift and it now has a new exterior as well. The front end of the car now has the trademark Jewel LED headlights with the integrated grille while at the back there is a new set of LED tail lights. As standard, the car comes with 18 inch wheels which can be upgraded to 19 inch on the A-Spec model, which also comes with a different body kit and a slightly upgraded interior.

Inside the car on the other hand, most of the interior elements remained unchanged with the only real difference being the sporty model which has a different set of seats as well as a new steering wheel.
