2012 Acura RL 3.7 L Advance Package

2012 Acura RL 3.7 L Advance Package - Acura is not really known for their sports cars but rather for their luxury models. However, once in a while they team up with Honda and release amazing models which are not only beautiful to look at but also extremely fast. The 2012 Acura RL 3.7 L is just what its name says it is, a direct successor for the legendary NSX. But does it live up to what the previous model was? Well, we shall find out.

While it bears the same name as the original, there aren’t many similarities between the two cars. The first was a pure driving experience and not much more while the current model is more of a high tech super car which costs around three times as much as the older model. Because of this we do have really high expectations from it but it may not meet them. Why? Well, because the NSX is a car which has been in development for more than 10 years already, so the design is dated before it was even launched.

This might prove to be a problem for Acura but until we will see some official tests of the car, these are only rumors. The release date has been set in the fall of 2015 when it will come at a base price of around 155.000 dollars which is more than the GT from Ford, its main competitor.

One battle that the 2012 Acura RL 3.7 L will win over the is the technology employed in its engine. Early reports suggest that the NSX has a twin-turbocharged V6 which is coupled to three different electric motors, two for the front axle and one in the back. The total power should be around 650 horsepower while providing more than 550 lb-ft of torque. The transmission will be something unique with the petrol engine supplying the power to the rear wheels while the electric motors work in cooperation with it in order to provide power when needed. The 9 speed automatic gearbox is new and from the looks of it, Acura is going to improve it on a constant basis.

The performance will be on par with the rest of the super cars out there with a 0 to 60 MPH time of less than 3.5 seconds and a top speed of more than 200 MPH. However, the NSX will most likely prove to be slower than the others mostly because it doesn’t use the all new carbon fiber but rather aluminum and steel, so it is both heavier and less rigid than its competitors. This also shows in the fuel consumption which is quite low for a hybrid, being only able to match the fuel consumption of the GT which is a petrol powered car only.

On the interior on the other hand, the 2012 Acura RL 3.7 L is a much better car than most others in its class. The main word here is luxury with the NSX offering the same level of comfort any other Acura can. The dashboard has a nice layout which is not easy to read but also really easy to use while the seats are just as comfortable as those found in a luxury sedan. 2012 Acura RL 3.7 L Advance Package  The equipment level is better than average with all the usual commodities included in the base trim.

Its exterior on the other hand is far less impressive than the drivetrain or even than its interior mostly because the car is really subtle. The front end is quite aggressive if you look closely but the side profile and the back of the car not only remember of the original NSX but also about the NSX Concept which was released a few years back as a competition car only.
