Engine

Engine wise, the Rio is only available with a single engine in the US. This is a 1.6 liter aspirated inline 4 which is good for 138 horsepower and 130 lb-ft of torque. The engine is then mated to a 5 speed manual or a 4 speed automatic. Even though it isn’t the best in its class, the feeling it offers is quite nice and thanks to the revving nature, it is a pleasure to drive with the manual gearbox. Unfortunately though, there isn’t any diesel option available, option which would have made it the most fuel efficient car in its class. The current engine on the other hand is good for around 30 MPG on average.

The downside comes in the form of its chassis which is poor when compared to the Fiesta or even the Fit.

2015 Kia Rio exterior

On the exterior, the 2015 Kia Rio looks quite good, offering a European styled body which is reminiscent of the Sportage. It is available both in sedan and hatchback form which is a plus. The hatchback might be the better choice thanks to the folding rear seats which up the cargo capacity to huge levels. 2015 Kia Rio interior

Inside the Rio things are pretty good. The standard model gets air conditioning, electric windows, adjustable seats and even USB and Bluetooth connectivity for the audio system.
